Solar Heat Gain Coefficient

Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC)

One of the primary measures of the energy efficiency of a window is it's Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC). The SHGC measures the proportion of solar energy that is absorbed and transmitted by a window into the interior space. The greater the absorption and transmission of solar energy, the more heat generated within the house.
